Please fix VirtualBox 7.0 to be actually usable If the evaluation period expires, the desktop background will turn black. These virtual machines contain an evaluation version of Windows that expires on the date posted. Please note also: Quality of screenshots is kind of bad, because file is not allowed to be bigger than 100 KiB, and because I am not allowed to post link to external server, so heavy compression was required *sigh* We currently package our virtual machines for four different virtualization software options: VMWare, Hyper-V (Gen2), VirtualBox, and Parallels. I had to put these attachments into multiple posts, because you can only put three in each post Please see the log files as well as the system specification that I have attached. This all was tested with the exactly same VM, on the exactly same host! No weird artifacts in Windows itself this time, but application window appears completely empty, filled with some grayish color – how is this even possible? (please see screenshot in attachment!) Windows desktop manager will crash immediately and fall back to "basic" design (please see screenshot in attachment!) I can say this mostly confidently even though I have no connection to the VBox dev team. VirtualBox 7.0.2 + Guest Additions 6.1.40 virtualbox will not be supporting current builds of windows 7, in 32 or 64 bits. fonts look garbled and so on (please see screenshot in attachment!) this is hard to capture in a screenshot though, because it also flickers in a strange way!īut the worst things is: the screen goes completely black as soon as I try to actually start an app, requiring a complete reset of the VM VirtualBox 6.1.40 + Guest Additions 6.1.40Įverything is perfectly fine (please see screenshot in attachment!) As the title says, after update to VirtualBox 7.0(.2) the graphical output in Windows 7, Vista and probably others is totally broken, rendering VirtualBox unusable!Īll is back to normal after downgrade to version 6.1.40, so this definitely as an extremely serious regression in VirtualBox 7.0
